NEW LOCAL BAND NIGHT LAUNCHED

Ulverston Amplified set to hit the Coro!

Up and coming groups from Furness will be showcasing their music at a brand new local band night at the Coro.

Ulverston Amplified is a new event which takes place on Saturday 1 November and is aiming to give local groups a platform to perform to a large audience with professional technical equipment and support.

The show is a response to a call out on the Coro’s social media asking if local bands would be interested in performing at the venue. The post received a huge response with more than 60 comments suggesting local artists and groups.

As a result a line-up was put together featuring The Spiratones, Fizzy Milk (DJ set), Big Pharmer, Divers Green, Moody Brew and Juno and the Moons.

Coro General Manager Rick Holden said Ulverston Amplified was an exciting new addition to the Coro’s programme.

“It is important, as a community venue, that we support local artists and give them a platform to hone their skills as musicians. We were delighted by the response we got to the social media post which proves there is a huge pool of musicians desperate for the opportunity to play on a big stage which will help them develop and reach a wider audience.

“We are excited to see such a varied line-up of great bands and we really hope that local people get behind it so we can do more shows like this in the future,” said Rick.

Ulverston Amplified takes place on Saturday 1 November from 6pm. Tickets are £11
