Artist Commissions: Incredible Journeys

This summer will be the third year that The Coro hosts a month-long, free-to-attend series of public art installations. In 2020 and 2021 we installed ‘experience sheds’ out in the landscape in response to the pandemic for people to enjoy in their own time and space. This year, we’re bringing our sheds into the building where they will join a large scale installation and other exhibitions, events and activities that explore ‘incredible journeys’.

Following the main theme of incredible journeys the sheds will provide intimate, immersive experiences for visitors to step into and explore or experience the lives and journeys of some of the world’s migratory birds. They will be installed in The Coro’s main hall alongside one stunning, large-scale installation by Heinrich and Palmer.

We’re offering 6 commissions for 6 sheds that respond to this brief. We welcome expressions of interest from a range of creative medias.  Power and wifi will be available for any digital installations. All artists will have a profile on our website and an interpretation panel to support their work on the outside of their shed.

Proposals can be submitted in writing, video or other format but should include a clear outline of your idea and how you will bring it to life.

Artist fee: £1000

Deadline: Friday 17th June

Install: Week beginning 1st August

Duration: Exhibit open 5th-26th August

So if you have a real passion for fast-paced, high-class customer service, this role could be for you.

Previous experience working a bar is required.
