Ulverston International Music Festival presents
Friday 29 October, 7.30pm
Luxuriate in the richness of Richard Strauss’s gorgeous Four Last Songs, sung by Barrow’s own international star contralto.
Jess Dandy has been taking the classical music world by storm in recent years, making her debuts at Carnegie Hall in New York with John Eliot Gardiner and as a soloist in the BBC First Night of the Proms.
Her programme is centred around one of the great vocal works. Written shortly before Strauss died, his Four Last Songs ponder life and death with such assured, serene acceptance, by turns haunting and comforting – but always undeniably beautiful.

A short note on safety

Although no longer mandatory, we encourage all visitors to wear face coverings when indoors, keep a safe distance from others, use hand sanitisers and wash hands regularly, and check in with the NHS Test and Trace app if able to do so.
