Each week there will be a different focus and time to develop creative ideas. Specialisms explored together include acrylic painting, abstracted mark making and drawing, monoprint using a press, geli plate printing, collage, and mixed media. Sessions will draw inspiration from still life, architecture, elements of landscape and figurative aspects, and there will be links to contemporary abstract artists and schools of thought.
The course will enable participants to develop ideas with colour, texture, composition, working in a series, editing, selecting different scale images and developing visual language. There will be books and source material to stimulate discussion and freedom to explore individual enthusiasms. Each session will have brief demonstrations, ample making time and a chance to share images and get feedback.
