Abstract Art with Jess Levine
Six-week course, Mondays 6-8.30pm, The Supper Room
Join abstract printmaker and mixed media artist Jess Levine on this six-week course, exploring a wide variety of media and techniques to come away with your very own body of artistic work.
Each session will bring to life a range of materials and processes, drawing on references to landscape, urban landscape, still life and figurative elements and how these can be described in an abstract style. The course will cover:

Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience, creative areas of focus will include:

how each media can inform the use of other materials
Tuition will include brief demonstrations to familiarise students with materials and techniques, and visual resources including books and videos as useful starting points for discussion and independent practice. Each session will have a flexible structure with plenty of time to develop working ideas, be spontaneous and expressive, and the chance to share your work, offering praise and feedback for your fellow course-mates.

Meet your course leader:
Jess Levine is an abstract printmaker and mixed media artist based out of her studio in Backbarrow, with artwork in collections all over the world. Whether leading short courses, one-off workshops or private lessons, Jess is an experienced teacher, running fun, friendly and accessible sessions with an emphasis on play, a sense of discovery, and experimentation. Jess has a particular interest in the role of arts in contributing to positive mental health, having taught sessions for homeless people, vulnerable families, and those affected by addiction and domestic violence.
